I agree with 8:37pm. I have seen Gilligan play several times. Once there is a player the same size/strength - he does not do much. He has the spin move but once the other player figures out they stop him. As for playing out of position - Gilligan always has the ball so there is no out of position for him. There are alot more nasty players in the state than him. As for work ethic - he loves to play and works hard and thats great. Does this mean he should stop working hard - no!
Am I putting him down - No! Can you rank kids from watching them play AAU or BST during the summer and then proclaim them best in the state - No! Why is basketball the only sport that has to rank kids in the state???

  • At 9:36 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Gilligan is in the top tree in the state along with Thorpe and Williams, I would say he is the third best, but it all depends on opinion.
    Thorpe
    Williams
    Gilligan

That is my opinion as of now. There is a huge chance this will change before these kids are seniors and who knows someone that is never talked about may come out of no where and be considered to be the best. Just my opinion.

These are the top 3 from a very limited view of players. There is a big tournament in Plymouth ever y summer which has alot of the best teams in the state (Pelham, Lebanon, Salem and Portland ME. were in the semi's last year) full of Class L teams that don't play BST. I am sure there are other gret players we haven't seen.

  • At 6:16 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

thorpe isn't on a bst team

  • At 9:22 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

haha i saw that loser gilligan made his own rankings putting himself number 1 ! haha HES A NOBODY!

  • At 3:56 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Gilligan is not top 3 in state. He is good ballplayer but nothing exceptional. I agree with 3:13 - I talked to another parent that has a kid in BST and he says half the really good kids don't show up to play so its inaccurate to draw rankings from this....

any feedback on 2012 players at hazelton camp? are they able to hang with the older players?

Those who impressed the most last evening were the following:

Point guard Will Bayliss who will be playing a PG year at Tilton Academy next school year had an exceptional first evening showing that he is an excellent floor general. Bayliss outworked his opponents last evening making his teammates look good. Most impressively, Bayliss who has obviously improved his outside game knocked down several outside jumpers.

Seven footer Dennis Clifford from Bridgewater-Raynham High School proved that with out a doubt he is a high major division 1 player. Last evening he showed that he has an exceptional skill set and can do some of everything. The bottom line is that this seven footer can run, he can catch, and he can score both around the basket as well as knock down shots when he steps away. As Scott Hazelton stated "Clifford is as good as any of the big guys he played with at the University of Rhode Island right now". The difference, Clifford is seven feet and as a way to go before he has to put on a college uniform.

6'4" sophomore Matt Daniels from Chelmsford High School is just the kind of guy you want to make sure is on your team. Daniels has a nose for the basketball and made play after play last evening. The bottom line is this kids a winner.

Anthony Floras of Merrimack High School, NH was impressive as he played every possession last evening. Floras suffered a slight ankle sprain early in the evening, but that did not slow down the aggressive guard who knocked down a multitude of threes on the evening and played every game to win.

6'6" sophomore Cedric Kuakumensah from Worcester North High School is getting better by the day as he demonstrated the ability to score in a variety of ways last evening. He made the three, scored off the drive, and had several put backs for baskets. Kuakumensah also had the play of the evening as penetrated from the wing and had a monster dunk in traffic.

Junior Jordan Laguerre from New Hampton Prep was the best player in the gym as he is a relentless competitor who just doesn't stop. Last night Laguerre used his athleticism and skill to get to the basket at will. But when anybody gave him any space, he drained the three.

Sophomore Mike Mitchell from Milford High School in New Hampshire demonstrated that he is a talented point guard that can get in the lane and create opportunities for his teammates. Mitchell also has the ability to knock down shots.

Sophomore Jaymie Spears from St. Mark's School keeps getting better and better. Spears is a nightmare on the defensive end and is a hawk for the basketball. On the offensive end, Spears can get to any spot on the floor and can make a pull-up jumper on the dime.

Sophomore Stephen Spirou from Pelham High School in New Hampshire showed that he is an exceptional slasher who can score the basketball in many ways.

Tonight should be a big night in Plaistow, NH as Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Marquette, Providence, Syracuse, UMass, UNH, UNLV, Wakeforest plus others are all scheduled to make an appearance.

the list above was all sophs and above - were there many freshman, were they able to compete at that level?

  • At 9:39 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I seen three NH Freshmen that all showed the ability athleticly to play with the better players in the camp.
To me Gilligan showed the best so far with the strong body he is able to carve out space and dispite over using his favorite move (spin Move) he does have succes getting to the hoop with it and does finish with contact very well for a sophomore.
Thorpe from Exeter is very athletic with decent range although he doesnt use his skills to get his jumper off as much as he should. He is a good slasher but like most smaller guards a solid pullup off the dribble is sometimes a better move than getting to deep amongst the trees. Solid defender and sees the floor well although he needs to be more vocal and direct his team a little more.
Williams is a athlete and a half. Great quickness and leaping ability but has a ways to go as far as being a true point guard. He forces way to much and often sees openings after the fact and they often turn into turnovers.
Great upside but he needs to have a coach put high standards on him and keep him under control to get the most out if him.
All three are very good players that will make huge steps this year as sophomores at the varsity level.
Beyond that I would say the next best underclassmen is Dimitri Floras. He has as much pure basketball talent as the others. With his ability to shoot the ball, on top of his ball handling and court vision I would say he is Merrimacks next big player. He will have a great Freshmen season and help Merrimack take a step forward and get back in the playoffs.

Hey Jeremy L what kids in the freshman and sophmore class from nh were you impressed most with last night???

  • At 12:23 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

    BST 222?

What games have the starting 5 for Milford attended/

    Are they just overated?

  • At 12:59 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Milford has not had a game yet with all five starters because four of them play aau ball and can't make it often. However they did play merrimack last week and played three twenty minute halves, the first half was close aroun ten for milford the other two were blowouts milford by twenty plus both times.

Thanks Jeremy L. What did you think of the class of 2011 anyone there impress you?

  • At 1:08 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Another guard at the exposure camp that impressed me was O'Brien. He was fast, quick, played strong defense and was able to get his shot off against bigger defenders. Also showed strong ball handling skills. Heard he plays for the Rivals so he is probably overshadowed by Thorpe and Williams, but from what I saw he is someone to lookout for.

why is there all this talk about gilligan in the games i've seen this summer i've been more impressed with ryan redmond whos going to be a junior and is tall with semi-raw skills and decent athletism as opposed to gilligan kid's overrated.

  • At 7:02 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Gilligan gets talked about so much because no matter if you like the way he plays or not he puts up big numbers.

  • At 8:14 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

redmond plays hard, good rebounder, has a different game then gilligan. gilligan is more of a slasher that can handle the ball very well. with redmound, gilligan, cordts and a few other players, souhegan is poised to be a pretty good team if everyone understands their role.

If I were Thorpe, gilligan, williams and a few other players in this class you might as well give up basketball based on some peoples comments. i hope these kids don't read this thing or if they do hopefully they're using as a motivator.
do some people just love being negative.

5:42 am - Terrible blogger. Spells like an uneducated person. Might have some upside if he studies harder, listens to his teachers and stays out of detention hall. Probably some one who sucks at basketball, but gets pleasure being negative about people who bust their tails to play b-ball. I don't think this person could lead a pack of ants up an ant hill because of lack of leadership qualities. Needs to shrink his head.

I don't think there is a huge drop in talent after the top 3 - that is ridiculous. Actually this is probably the best thought out list of talent for this class that has been posted. Having spent most of my time watching HS and AAU basketball this year, and going to the exposure camps, I would say the list is pretty accurate. However, there is no way I would put Light before Colbert or Mark P. He turns over the ball way too much.

Separate list? They all have flaws in their game and significant areas to improve upon. There is also room for discussion on how high they should be in the list. The difference between the listed top three and the rest is not that significant...give it a break...no Div 1 coaches are calling their houses as a result of their performances last week!

who won the vt/nh all-star game today? which nh players had a good game?

  • At 8:03 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

not trying to stick up for anyone on any of the list for the 4 different years but tell me any player at any level that doesn't have a flaw or flaws?????? some players are just ahead of others right now but as stated before it could change in the future, if the top players are passionate about their game they should keep improving which gives them a good shot to stay in that upper echilon. comes down to the kid. they've done something right up to this point. from what i've seen and heard these three they will probably keep improving and have very solid high school careers. their coaches must be thrilled to have talented incoming sophomores that will be key contributors for the next three years if they stay with their high school.

jerome mcnabb who just moved to concord from phily will be a sophmore this upcoming season for concord hs. he is a 6'5 small forward who has already recived national recruiting coverage from he likes of rivals.com and scout.com, he will no doubt be the #1 player in 2012 as is on an even higher level than thorpe and williams.

  • At 9:36 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

concord will still suck major butt next season even with the addition of the cheese steak kid.

  • At 4:42 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

"for the next three years if they stay with their high school."

Are you kidding? Do you really think Williams Gilligan and Thorpe are going to stay in NH for the next three years to play HS basketball. Currently these three kids are on completely different levels than the rest of the NH players in 2012. Just judging from what I have seen with Laguere these three players will either go prep after junior year, or go to a school like central catholic, to get more attention from college recruiters.

  • At 8:19 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Thorpe and Williams currently compete at elite levels in AAU, and I would expect them to probably go prep in a year or two if they keep upping their game. I haven't seen Gilligan really compete at elite levels in AAU (he plays 15U)and he plays class I HS basketball..how does that make him an elite player? Other players on the list..Colbert, OBrien, Light, Mark P... have played U16 & U17 AAU, have trained for months with the elite group on Wed nights with the Rivals, and Colbert and O'Brien are going to Vegas with Thorpe and Williams to compete in an elite tournament...so saying the top three are "elite" in a different class from the rest isnt justified. There is a lot of competition out there and everyone better keep working hard! Next year the list could look way different.

  • At 1:49 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

    I completely agree with 4:42.

I'm not sure about Mike Thorpe, because he doesn't seem to have the potential to play at the next level like Williams and Gilligan. These two players stand out form the rest because Williams is an unbelievable athlete(not many like him in NH) and Gilligan because he has the height to play his position at the next level. Both players still have tons of work to do to improve their games but because of the potential they have they will both probably catch the eye of a prep school by the end of this season, if they haven't already.

  • At 2:34 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why isn't Gilligan on the rivals? It makes no sense for him to be playing on his little tiny town team ..... he might throw his chances at playing college basketball out the window, because he's to lazy to drive an hour a couple times a week.
Also I expect that WiIliams and probably Thorpe will reclassify after next season and attend a prep school but from what I here and know about Gilligan he will probably stay at Souhegan and score 20+ points a game through out his career yet not get a much attention from colleges.

    Predictions for the three

-WIlliams d1 after 3 years of prep

-Thorpe d2 after 3 years of prep

-Gilligan d2 after staying in amherst. But if he went prep I could see him and Javon both possibly going d1, if they had unbelievable work ethic.

    Dear Mr. Dunham or Hazelton,

If you think Exposure through AAU is how college coaches find their players you are just part of the giant con game of AAU.

If Matt Bonner didn't play AAU but got the same skill development in other ways he would still be with the spurs.

College Coaches will find you IF you are good enough. Gilligan can play locally and IF he gets good engough he will play at the next level. PERIOD

To say that their are really good players sitting at home right now not playing college ball because they didn't plop down 2K to the Dunham or Haselton is ridiculous

    Tah

  • At 4:15 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Sorry Mr. Dunham you are right. where do I send my money?

  • At 4:15 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I have a mixed reaction to both of the above comments - I think you do have to play AAU at a higher level. I think someone like gilligan should consider a better program then one from his hometown, although I'm sure he has been more of the spotlight in regards to the go to guy on his current team. In addition, he probably sees more defensive pressure from the other teams due to who he is. I'm not really sold on going to a prep school, I think if you have solid coaches in high school they will get your name out there and they will get calls if a player is that good. my feeling is prep is after your high school career - the likes of bonner, millard, lutz, etc... - none of them prep'd - the kid from alvirne was the only one that i recalled prep'd. Comments?

  • At 4:22 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jeremy - what are your thoughts on AAU - do you think it important for kids to play at the highest level program possible and do you think if a kid is good enough in high school colleges will find him? do you think thye need to prep?

  • At 6:33 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

It's hard to make prediction for how good these freshman will be when they graduate high school in 3 years, but in my mind Gilligan and Williams are different than the rest of the players that are in this class because of the potential that they have to play at the next level. But for someone from New Hampshire to play in college they need the exposure and preperation that a prep school offers.

  • At 7:29 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

do you think they need to go prep in their senior year or is that extra year after senior suffice?

  • At 1:38 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Gilligan's potential to play at a higher level is unknown. He was a freshman last year playing class I JV and avg 16 pts per game.. Big deal so didn't most kids on Jeremy's list and many were also playing varsity. He plays age-appropriate AAU for a small home team that competes in moderate levels at NH and Mass tourneys...he is a good size at 6' 2" but not a giant like the 6'8" + players..so what awesome potential is he demonstrating to date that will draw college coaches to tiny Souhegan? I seem to be missing it.

  • At 1:53 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Gilligan is the only one with any sort of chance because if he grows to 6'6" and has unbelievable, and I mean unbelievable work ethic, gets good grades, wins games and post huge numbers he has a chance to play d1. williams and thorpe though very good players dont have the size to play at the next level.

Take Scott King, a very talented player who wasn't even starting for Pinkerton. But it wasn't his fault. That team was a bad situation last year, especially late in the season. He wanted to go to a school where he'd get minutes, one that could utilize his talents and a coach that would make him better. It was a no-brainer for him to go prep.

Jeremy, i think this is a great example of why someone should not go prep. Prove yourself first at the high school level. As bad as pinkerton season ended up last year, he was not playing. Why? He is a nice kid from a nice family, works at his game, is 6' 7", not a trouble maker, good "practice skills". The pinky coach is probably the worst in class L but if this player was so good there is no reason he should not have been on the floor. as bad as a coach is they always try to win. he was not being punished for a specific reason. Why did he not play?

  • At 8:20 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Thorpe is the best in this class right now, but he will only play d3 because he isn't going to grow.

It's hard to be 5'10" not unbelievably athletic and play d1 or d2 basketball

  • At 9:45 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Thorpe could grow he is only what 16. He could get to 6 ft maybe
6"1' If he does hes a lock to go at least D2.

  • At 10:27 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Even bad coaches don't punish kids for being good. There is probably some other reason King did not get in. Is he tough enough? Does he hustle? Is he the wrong player in the wrong system(not a great reason)

    must be more info

  • At 12:39 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

On that list by Jeremy - Richard Obrien is not 5'10 he is only 5'7 or 5'8 and Colbert and Nelson are about 5'10 or 5'11.

That is the point! If you can t be semi successful in a situation like that how do you plan to step a couple levels up and remotely have a chance. If you have any talent what so ever you would see very good minutes there(pinky). Not to pick on anyone but if you can t be a contributing player in Class I or L how do you expect to go to a prep school and have a chance.

The point is laguerre dominated on the best team in Class L last year there is nothing left for him to prove at that level. The other player also a junior on a middle of the pack team could not even find the floor and they both step up? First decision seems good the second is in question.

    My humble opinion

This is not an unusual situation for players outside of NH. Many players over the last 10-15 years have reclassified and enrolled at Prep school for athletic and academic reasons as well. Both players will be better for it in both the academic side and the athletic side. You always get better by playing against better competition. Scott and Jordan will now be pushed more in both the classroom and the gym than they ever would have had they stayed.
Add to that the extra year of maturity and more opportunity for exposure to college coaches and it is a no brainer. Good luck to both kids, make the best of it guys.

1:10 pm -Pinkerton a middle of the pack team? Pinkerton finished 5th out of 20 teams. I think that would qualify them as nearer to the top as opposed to middle of the pack.

Wouldn't that be correct, 1:10 pm???

Check out the standings pal. You are what you are. They don't rank coaching staffs in the NHIAA standings. NHIAA just ranks the wins and losses. Based on wins and losses Pinkerton finished 5th. That's not middle of the pack. 2:35.

I've seen Scott play as well multiple times, and I don't know this for sure but he might not get playing time because of his size. He's about 6'5" to 6'6" in NH and he has the mentality of a 2/3 position because he is a lean athletic kid. He doesnt have a lot of strength and can easily be man handled by a strong 6'2" kid. His coach might be a stubborn and arrogant old timer who tries to make scott play out of position.

In my opinion he has to be stupid not to play the kid because like jeremy said he does rebound well, he is athletic, has a great attitude. I don't know if he is a proven scoring but he clearly knows what he is doing on the basketball court. His movement of the ball and his ability to use his teammates is a uncommon quality to find in a player at this age. I dont know if hes a proven scorer, but I can see the kid doing everything something like averaging 12points 7rebounds 5assists 1.5steals 1.5blocks a game. thats how i see him right now, and I think he's only gonna get better because he has strong work ethic.

and as for the williams, gilligan, and thrope talk.

    WILLIAMS:
If williams gets a better jump shot and follows that with passing ability he will be deadly for a team. As of right now the kid is way to cocky and has a tendency to not take things seriously. All a defender has to do to stop the kid is give him a 3ft cushion and it takes javons only advantage away. (quickness with the ball) Even with his below avg. jumper, his ego can't handle the insult of not being respected on Defense so he of course shoots it when this happens and of course it goes in about 20-25% of the time.

He needs to take a lesson from Rajon Rondo, who also sucks at shooting. When the defense gives Rondo a cushion he often doesnt shoot, but looks for the right move to make with a dribble or a pass. Occasionally Rondo will shoot it to keep the defender guess, and Rondo has improved his percentage over the years for his jump. (AND I am by no means saying williams is comparable to Rondo)

Also Williams tends to play horrible defense after missing shots or making bad turnovers. He even plays horrible defense when he is doing well on offense, its just not as noticable. The only time he plays good defense is when his team is down by a little and he senses the momemtum shifting in his teams direction.

    GILLIGAN:
He is in a good spot right now because he is so young. He's got a few attitude adjustments to make and needs to work on his overall game.

When I say he needs an attitude adjustment I mean he complains a lot. He does not do a good job hiding either, he's very proactive with his complaint. For example, often after a call is made that he disagrees with, Gilligan will act stunned and hold his arms out and act like the referee has insulted his manhood or something. He often ends up getting negative vibes from referees, opposing coaches, and players (whether they are on his team or not).

Some improvements he needs to make include, passing, off the ball movement, and defense.

I am not saying he is a bad passer, because he often does make good passes, but its not the brilliant passes that always are the best thing to attempt. For example, Gilligan often gets offensive rebounds and doesnt make the best of the opportunity. He typical grabs it and if theres not opportunity to score he will dribble around until he finds a way to shoot it. He does this while the 4 other players on his team watch him get double and sometimes triple teamed.
The most simple way to score is often the least fancy Devin and doesnt always involve you.

As for Gilligan off the ball movement. Its typically non-existent or uneffective. He has no ability to come of a screen and shoot (like we see ray allen do all the time) and if he is capable of it I havent seen it. He off the ball movement consists of him coming directly to PG and taking it from him.

And as for defense, he often takes possessions off or plays half-heartedly.

    THROPE:
This kid can play. But he has long list of things to improve on but I'm getting tired of typing so I'll make it short and sweet.

For being a Point Guard he has some horrible shot selection, often shooting before even looking to pass. The shots he takes are in his range and easily within his capabilities, but the he has to make sure to involve his teammates or else there will be turmoil within his teams. However, he makes up for it by making great passes in transition and an occasional great pass in an offensive set. He easily the best transition passer I've seen in his class and perhaps competes with seniors and juniors as well.

Thrope also gets a little to fancy with the dribbling, often making moves that are unnecessary, which lead to turnovers. For example he will be running a set offense and position himself at the top of three point arch. He then typically starts dribbling between his legs and going behind his back (you get the idea) without making any forward progress and without any defensive pressure. He just makes the moves, for no other reason than show that he can do them. Sometimes this lead to the ball hitting off his leg and a free steal for a defender that wasnt even playing good defense.

As for Thropes Defense, he takes possessions off.

If any of you three kids ever read this. You aren't going anywhere if you don't play defense.

And I'm not trying to be a jerk, but most people on this blog are giving only your upsides and the negative things being said on this site are not constructive.

Bottomline if you guys dont work on Defense, you go no where.

I agree strongly with the last poster's assesments of Gilligan,Williams and Thorpe. That is why it is laughable that people want to label them "elite" over the rest of the class. Also agree with the defense comment. Talk to anyone who has played professionally and they will say the same thing. Every team has the player that can put up 50 points...who is valuable is the player who can stop that guy from scoring.

Man, I feel bad for these 3 kids, they appear that they've worked pretty hard to get to the point they're at and they're certain people that just want to knock them down. I'm sure they each understand there's tremendous work to be done on their game, defense being one area. Applaud them for what they've accomplished to this point, it may be 3 other players we're refering to at this point next year. However, if I were these 3, i'd use these comments, in particular the long winded one on each player from the previous blogger (9:21) as a motivator. Good luck to all 3 and others that have taken negative criticism on this blog.

All I can say to the 3 players mentioned and any other player that gets beaten up on this blog (for the other years as well), bust your tail and prove all these naysayers wrong. get your self in terrific shape (even push-ups, situps every day), practice hoops as much as you can and hit the books in school - the reward will be there in the end if it's meant to be . however, it will be hard work.

There is a ton of difference in the two programs.
Rivals cost is kept down by sponsering tourneys and making money for the program. Vin and Mike understand that times are tough and parents are not always going to have the money it takes to send kids to Vegas,Virginia and everywhere else. While the Rivals keep 8-10 kids for each age group they also understand that it is easier to move kids up and allow other players minutes to keep everyone happy. That is very smart by the Rivals. When players like Jamie Spears and Miller move up to play with the 17's it benefits everyone. That allows players like Thorpe and Williams to play up and get minutes. Very smart by that group. Perhaps something Coach Dunham should think about next year.

Yes, Not sure what the playing time will be but he is a solid defender and should be on the varsity roster. I am a little concerned that Milford has so many buards that the younger guys will not get enough minutes to improve. I hope the coaches thing about keeping 20 guys in the program and swing kids from jv to varsity to make sure the sophs get minutes.
They all deserve a chance to improve.

How did the likes of Sophomore to be Javon Williams (left) and freshman to be Noah Vonleh (right) get better so fast? Well we told you that these guys are committed to working on their game and that is a big part of it, but so isn't playing against top competition. Many times, high school teams and most AAU teams for that matter do not have enough talented players on their roster to push the most gifted. It is well known that when you are the best player on the court, you are making all your teammates better, but doing little to make yourself better. To realize your potential as a basketball player you need to be on the court with players who are better to you, or at least with ones that can challenge you. How would you like to be Williams and Vonleh and get to practice and workout with the likes of Michigan bound Evan Smotrycz, high division 1major Carson Desrosiers, Harvard bound Matt Brown, and the talented Jordan Laguerre? If you are Williams and Vonleh you have no choice but to get better given this scenario. That is what being a Rivals player is about, getting each other better. The Rivals older mentor the young, and the young help the younger.

If you visited a Rivals workout or practice you would see plenty of talent in the gym at one time not to mention the likes of Scott Hazelton who still suits up. What does this practice consist of? It consists of a period of skill develoment followed by scrimmaging where each young men is asked to compete and get after it. It is also about the friendships that are created and the respect that good players have for other good players. Most of all, although much is asked, it is about having fun while getting good.

Seems like this Rose family has some issues not only with getting his SAT scores.
    Story from AAU Site

LAS VEGAS – Another day, more AAU coaching antics – the latest courtesy of Reggie Rose.

Yep, Derrick Rose's older brother, the guy who basically controlled Derrick's recruitment from start to finish, pulled his team off the court with a little more than 10 minutes left and his team trailing by 30 or so points.

    Here's what happened:

Grassroots Canada's Dwight Powell was at the foul line, apparently shooting two shots. However, one of the referees indicated it was a 1-and-1 and after Powell missed the free throw, the entire Derrick Rose All-Stars team froze as Powell collected the offensive board and followed with an uncontested dunk.

Reggie and his brother, Wayne, both collected technical fouls for arguing with the officials and then Reggie was booted after a profanity-laced tirade.

Reggie then instructed his players to leave the court with 10-plus minutes left and more than 50 college coaches in the crowd.

"He's a clown," said one Division I coach.

"Great lesson to teach kids, that it's OK to quit," added another in the crowd.

When I questioned Reggie about his decision after the game, he was visibly upset.

"$%^&*&*$%,” he said in yet another profanity-laced tirade. "@#$%&!@%."

Shortly thereafter, Reggie had to be escorted out of the gym.

Not exactly the ideal example to set.

But then again, this is AAU basketball.

dom ciccone has the most potentional in this age group but he missed his freshmen year due to academic ineligbilty...he was starting guard on storm

  • At 7:45 PM , Anonymous Brian Flanardi said...

Ive seen dom play before he tryed out for rivals which he made but wasnt guranteed a starting spot so he left for the jays where he started and was a big time defense player but from what ive seen cant finish but is the fastest dribbler that ive seen in along time
downside is his height he needs 6 more inches and his game would exceed level

take hasser, a bench player, off this list and add andrew kahr the leading scorer on the team

  • At 7:05 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I would say this list has potential with a few adjustments but jeremy's is more acurate and this doesn't get updated frequently. All I know is one person your really missing is The Starting point guard from north spelt Gauthier i think. Also Derek Defranzo and Billy lane aall pretty good guards especially Gauhthier who is big for his team with Javon Williams and Alex Pratt. Just somethings to think about???????????

Trevor Glassman is one of the worst team players I have ever seen in basketball. He has an ugly shot and never finishes around the basket. He thinks he can take anyone off the dribble, but has absolutely no ball skills. He doesn't belong on this list.

HAHA Philbrick being on this list just made me lose all respect for this entire website.

  • At 12:52 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey what a great list! Except, I'm wondering how a two year starting varsity shooting guard from Merrimack valley high school doesn't make the list when u have kids that play jv are on here. I'm talking about Justin Abbott, who last year avg 6.5ppg and this year is avg 10.5ppg. He also may be the most athletic sophmore in the state, starting three varsity sports as a freshmen breaking the schools record in interceptions for football where the team lost in overtime in a game that would have given the team a playoff spot. Also starting varsity bastetball, and leading the lacrosse team in asst. While he was the starting x attact man. I can see how u could say well that was last year so here's this year starting varsity quarterback and the best DB on the team for football where againg lost the last game of the year by one tuchdown which would have put them in the playoffs. For basketball like I said starts varsity and avg 10.5 points per game. So when u make a list start making it accurate.
