rivals won, integrity second, although integrity lost to some town team from amherst

Congratulations to the Rivals for winning it all, no surprise, they had 90% of the talent in the 9th grade. Also Integrity played great after not winning a game in the preliminary round(losing to the Rivals, then Amherst) they battled and knocked off last years champions the Manchester Heat.

Yes, congrats to the Rivals for winning it all - they by far had the best all around team with solid players at all positions. I wouldn't necessarily say they had 90% of the talent - most of the other teams had 1,2 or 3 talented players with a number of role players. I'm sure some of these teams players would definitley been impact players on the Rivals. But once again - great job by the Rivals for putting an excellent team on the floor. great job

integrity shouldnt have been the number 2 team. i know they beat the heat but that was not the same team as last year. they also lost to amherst and amherst controlled the whole game

  • At 1:21 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

the rivals did have more then 90 percent of the talent the only legit players not on that team would be gillygan and descarae

  • At 3:26 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

9:20-Are you suggesting Amherst is the # 2 team?

  • At 4:27 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

    no

  • At 4:34 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

no but there were other teams that could definetly beat integrity

  • At 4:35 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

You do have to give the Merrimack Hawks and the Amherst team credit - they compete with just kids from their high school and most of the time they're in every game - they probably come up short because they don't have a strong enough bench to compete with the teams that are basically all-star teams from around the state. Should allow their high school teams to be competitive in the future. They should combine their two teams and make a strong AAU team that would be tough to beat.

  • At 2:14 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

what anout the other warriors team that knocked out amherst they wouldve killed integrity like they have before ....but the rivals were to much in the semis

  • At 2:26 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

The high school season is complete, AAU has had states - time to up date this list - i think there's 20 players that can be listed - the current 5 is a little out dated.

the number 1, 2, and 3 players on here are correct. not so sure about the other two.

After attending my first State AAU tournament I was really disappointed. The building had to be about 90, the referees were fighting in the entrance to the UNH building, and some teams had to play without coaches because of the scheduling. Some teams had 4 hours to sit and then had to play back to back games. I thought AAU was suppose to be a well respected and established Basketball organization. The Referees were all leaving before the tournament even ended. Even saw one ref watching a kid play in the next court not even watching what was going on in their own game. Extremely disappointed!!

As for ranking kids - is basketball the only sport that the kids are ranked in??

Skyler Mitchell is better than Gilligan...

  • At 5:30 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm not sure who Skyler Mitchell is but saw Gilligan play at states - he's good - kids about 6'2 with some nice moves, handles the ball well and takes the ball to the hoop hard. Kid Descarae from Portsmouth solid player with a nice shot from the outside, big kid. Guard from the Storm - quick and plays hard, size may be an issue though. Also, left hander that plays with Gilligan nice player as well. Didn't see Rivals but I've heard Thorpe and Williams are very good. Big kid from Hawks - tough inside - good thing, rest of his team was disappointing.

  • At 5:34 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Obrien blows away every one he guards. Played with williams and thorpe with rivals at states. shut down everyone defensively and played decent offense - 10 pts per game. bedford jv team high scorer and played some varsity. if he sucks then what does that say for the rest of you.

  • At 6:07 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I saw Pelham play Bedford twice this year. OBrien owned the court the first game scoring over 20 points and shutting down Pelham's pg. Next game Pelham double teamed him and he still scored double digits. Kid is fast, quick and has a very high court IQ. Nice to hear he is playing with the Rivals.

Big Fuhking Deal. Freshman Championship squad means raccoon shit.In a couple of years half to 3/4 of the playas from a freshman team are watching their school's basketball games instead of playing in them.

Take them fuhking verbal apples 7:45 am you more-on.

I agree with 924. Just not as hatefully

If you don't make JV as a freshmen in an avg program........ You stink

If you are on JV in a bad program (see Souhegan) ..........You stink

  • At 1:57 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

trevor haney will start as a sophmore for nashua south and lead the backcourt like the true star he is. with robbie flananagan who averaged a minute or 2 on the court in freshman games

  • At 6:18 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Which Warriors, the ones from amherst or the one near haverhill, ma. what do you mean williams wasn't impressive - neither one of the warriors could shut him down.

  • At 6:33 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Javon Williams was outshined by Gilligan who had 20 plus points(Williams couldn't stop him) Williams only had 8-10 points. Javon forced shots and for someone so highly praised he struggled with layups...the Warriorz won by 3, and they were missing Jack Nelson(#3)

  • At 7:18 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why would Williams be guarding Gilligan? Where did they play Mass Rivals tourney?

  • At 8:41 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ask their coach why he had Williams on Gilligan - Williams probably couldn't focus his coach was yelling the whole game.
    Mass Rivals tournament it was.

  • At 8:50 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

All we hear on this site is Thorpe and Williams - the two best players - well lucky for them they play with an all-star team of players - of course they both should look good. Put Desearae, Gilligan and a few of these other top kids on the NH Rivals and there name would be mentioned as one one of the top two players on this blog. It sounds like gilligan held his own against willimas.

  • At 10:09 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Williams was quicker then Gilligan but Devin was stronger and had a wide variety of moves. Which created an extremely tough match up for Javon. Also his coach didn't provide a whole lot of positive reinforcement. He screamed at Javon whenever Gilligan even touched the ball.

I also agree with what 8:50 said.

  • At 12:57 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Williams had great athletic ability but he tried to do to much. Faking behind the back passes, turning the ball over, and forcing outside shots that didnt look good.

  • At 12:58 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

The talent in this class is a lot closer than people think. put up the top fifteen.

    Williams-Thorpe-Williams-Thorpe....
Whats all the hype about, they are both good players but they are both about 5'11'' and they most likely wont grow to much more judging by their frame, feet and parents (genetics for all you dip-shits) who is this kid Lacount he is a freshman and has size 16 feet the kid will be about 6'8'' in a couple of years someone said he has twin brothers that are 6'5'' and they both got Div. #1 scholarships for crew somewhere in Florida, so his family must be athletic. If you guys know anything about this kid write it on this blog. THANKS

  • At 2:51 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

    gilligans good

    Williams is good

    thorpe is good

GILLIGAN MUST HAVE BEEN PLAYING VARSITY AS A FRESHMAN??

  • At 8:07 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why is basketball the only place that has to have its players rated?? You don't see that for football, baseball, etc.

  • At 8:13 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

So if the rest of the class is not that good is that why Gilligan looks so good??? The way you kids talk Gilligan should already have a pro contract!!! There must be NBA scouts everywhere.....

  • At 10:23 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

7:24 should not be concentrating on basketball - his focus should be on school. If his comments are a reflection on how he plays basketball he will be one of those non players... Have you ever gone undefeated in any type of basketball league?? I believe Gilligan was playing freshman too... Obviously you need to cut people down to make yourself seem like a big man which is so obviously you're not!

  • At 10:25 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I thnk there are a number of good players in this class, thorpe, williams, lacount, desarae, gilligan are some of them - it appears that only thorpe and wiliams were ones being talked about. overall appears we have a pretty good class of players. i have a feeling the players mentioned on these blogs have teammates or other players from competing teams saying things good and bad about them.if we have a decent game it'll show up in the stats, sometimes we'll have off days. rather doubtful anyone will go to the nba.

  • At 11:05 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

i hope the 5 or 6 players that get mentioned on this blog dont read this thing, some people are either jealous or wish they were as good as these other kids. did they do soemthing wrong to be decent basketball players.

  • At 11:32 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

11:05 - you hit the nail on the head - you said decent not great basketball players - as 10:25 said none of the kids are going to the NBA despite the talk on this website

kohl meyers top 1o basketball player in state. got good minutes on the varsity level scoring arund 7 points a game. in aau for the nh sharpshooters only god player on the team averagd around 30 -35 points. amazing athlete should be reconized more. played jovi philbricks team and held him to 11 points ans droped 29 on him including 5 threes. should be scouted more

  • At 4:19 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

yeah but jovi sucks and cannot score

  • At 4:27 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

yeah why is he number 4

  • At 5:09 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jovi should not be number 4 in the state. Not even close. There is no way you can rank kids only seeing a few kids in a few games... Milford was not even close in the tournament. What number is Kohl Meyers on Sharpshooters? The Sharpshooters coach was very professional and treated the kids with respect....

Armond Mcrae only made the freshman team this year and half way through the season went up to varsity and got significant playing time.

  • At 5:56 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

7:45 - you need to go to school. You are so ignorant! You will be the one watching from the sidelines. Has your team won any type of championship????????????
Has any of your teams won 18 games straight???? 3 of the starter Nashua South freshman haven't lost a game in two years.... Secondly, obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. Armond did not get much playing time on Varsity. He went for a couple of games and came back for the tournament. South plays as a team thats why they won. There is no superstar - Did you play on one of any of the freshman teams that South faced?? Amherst was proud of their undefeated season so are they "raccoon shit too"? Are all the players awful?? We all know alot of the freshman along with sophomores, juniors, and some seniors won't play next year. It depends on the positions open at the time at whether kids move. You are right though - alot of kids won't be playing in the next few years. Alot will be concentrating on more important things than basketball. You and nobody on this list is going to the pros so stop being nasty - talk about positive things....please tell us about your achievements up to now - I am sure everyone would like to know...

What is this site turning into all six of those players mentioned above are good players-The person writing those comments above is most likely a bench player who tries to make him and his peanut size of a brain fell bigger.

Who ever writes negative comments, why? you are obviously insecure about your basketball ability, how bout only positive comments or if you disagree you don't have to be a dick about it.

ONCE AGAIN 9:34 & 9:19 & 2:06 - WHAT CHAMPIONSHIPS HAVE U WON???? WE ARE WAITING??? OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE WON NOTHING AND YOU MUST NOT BE VERY GOOD AT BASKETBALL. DID SOUTH PLAY AGAINST YOU??? WHY ALL THE NEGATIVE FOUL COMMENTS?? IF YOU HAVE TO DISAGREE WHY NOT HAVE AN ACTUAL INTELLIGENT COMMENT OR IS THAT NOT BEING TAUGHT IN YOUR SCHOOL AT THE FRESHMAN LEVEL?? YOU KNOW ENGLISH?? DID SOUTH REALLY GO 18-0? HAVE YOU HAD AN UNDEFEATED SEASON? I THINK I SAW SOME OF THE SOUTH KIDS PLAY AGAINST GILLIGAN, MCCARTHY, PHILBRICK?? I DON'T THINK THEY DID TOO BADLY AGAINST THEM?? THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT BASKETBALL -PLEASE ENLIGHTEN US ON YOUR BASKETBALL SKILLS AND WHERE YOU SHOULD BE RANKED?

How do I know that Gilligan talks crap is cause I heard him...He does not need to talk crap when your good! Philbrick is got a nice outside shot. But you kind of answered your own question about Gilligan & Philbrick - they play class I...
That says it all!!!! Nashua South plays in Class L - isn't that a tougher division??? The reason you do not know about McCarthy is cause he plays Class L. Cooper Paul plays Class L. Please correct me if I am wrong? So stop putting South down - they worked hard - if you guys won a championship then you would have the right too! So stop talking crap and start talking basketball. How did Gilligan & Philbrick do in their Class I division?? Bottom line - there is too much variation and kids cannot be judged because they are not on the same playing field - maybe it should be by the Class that they are playing in.....

ok yeah nashua south won the freshman championship. and yes its only freshman but come on thats still a good acomplishment.

8:00 am - Very impressive that you can type with the caps on. You're a f-u-c-k-in-g Einstein.

What is not impressive is that N. south won the fresh tourn. Big deal. half of them will be playing cyo or b&g club in a couple of years. The other half will be part of a middle of the road L team. Nashua has sucked azzzz since the Nash high split up.

don't forget to replace the batteries in your key board more-on cuz of all the cap pounding yuv been doin. u r 1 big doosh bag.

  • At 2:56 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

What division you are playing in shouldnt determine how good you are. Many of the top ranked players in older classes play in class I.

  • At 4:35 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

It absolutely does! Just like it does not matter if you play for Jv as a freshman - things change - one minute your good the next your not. Coaches have different view points moving kids up and down. Smaller schools have a tendency to advance younger players because there is not alot of kids playing. Playing in different classes means you may not be up against the best in the state therefore making you look good!! I just think this website - the kids tend to overrate themselves or their friends. Were the top seniors already ranked the top as freshman or sophomores??

true but it really depends on what school. there are definetly players in smaller classes that could make an impact in class L.

Mavericks would beat the Rivals. They lost to the rivals by 1 in a smaller tournament after being up by 15 at half time. If anyone saw the refing you would know why they lost by 1. Worst refing i have ever seen by far. RIVALS ARE A GROUP OF BITCHES. stop drinking hatorade

Whoever put the NH AAU tournament did an awful job.. Refs arguing in the front doorway and the scheduling was awful - some teams had 4 hours delays, some teams had back to back games. Refs were awful not adhering to rules - there weren't even enough refs for the games. Even in the little tournaments it was amazing how refs could alter the games... Coaches talked with disrespect to their players and other teams players. Sorry as a parent, highly disappointed with AAU Basketball. I thought AAU basketball had a higher standard than streetball but it became obvious it doesn't. Anything goes... Now I understand this website better, listening to these kids blog just confirms it....

  • At 9:33 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Mavericks - you are really showing how classy the organization is..... It only confirms what I saw on the court!! Can any of you players talk without using foul language?? Is it a prerequisite on playing this sport?? The team is good but you lack sportsmanship...

Clearly Trinity is going to rule everyone.... They have 3 freshman over 6'4 - Secondly, Amherst is not even in the same class literally and you never will be..... So Amherst come out of the clouds and look at reality - you are not the best in the state and probably never will be...

  • At 12:21 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

amherst might not be the best in the state but they should be pretty good, their players have been together for 6 years - most of them are playing aau together and beating their fair share of teams that have all-star teams (not just one school like trinity) with a number of class L players from nh, ma and maine. Of course they've been beaten as well but give them credit for going out there competing against aau teams with just players from their town. Can the trinity group say that? like a previous emailer said - the only other group like this is the merrimack team.

  • At 12:40 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

yes amherst lost by two to an great new england select team that came in forth in super regionals while only playing with kids from there town they got a lot of heart and people should not be hasseling them on this website no one from amherst even writes on this so dont write bad about them

  • At 1:33 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Amherst = Souhegan which has been the most parent overun basketball program in the state. (and the worst program in Class I over the last 4 years, at one point they had 3 coaches in the same year)

Parents will ruin it for these young talented men. sad but true

  • At 1:38 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

The best player in the state is Dylan Stapelfeld

  • At 1:38 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

ok Souhegan won two championships in a row and then the program went downhill. They had a couple of bad coaches and lost a lot of talent from kids quitting and too much parent involvement. Now they have good coaches at all levels that are committed and work hard year around to make the program better. Amherst has a bright future.

You are delusional if you believe that Gilligan is so good that kids from all over the state are writing comments here in support of him and the Amherst basketball team. Gilligan is a only a big fish in a very little pond (Amherst).

    This site is crazy

Souhegans jv team got spanked by Hanover who was just so so in North Country (and Hanovers best player on varsity was a soph)

Souhegan has talent it's just had a weak AD who let good coaches get away and then one bad coach

    it's a pattern, just watch

actually they did not get spanked. they really tied but the ref said the big kids fur was on the line for a free throw with one second left. which I have heard it wasn't from both teams

  • At 3:14 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Seriously, Can you re-write that last post. It's unintelligible.

You can't tie and "which I have heard it wasn't from both teams" does not make sense.

    Did Hanover spank Souhegan?

  • At 4:07 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

NO. Souhegan didn't have ther whole team they were missing like 6 guys it was the last game of the season...they lost by one. but souhegan was way better. Hanover was one of the worst teams they played they just didnt come to play.

No it was 44 - like 41 i think game winning three was hit by a kid in the second overtime but yes amherst won

  • At 7:10 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

There is so much talk about Amherst - shouldn't the top five or all 15 players be from Amherst?? They play AAU and that seems to be a prerequisite for being on the list.... Gilligan must be better than Javon, Cooper Paul, and the guys from Trinity that are 6'9, 6'7", & 6' 5"

  • At 8:51 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

seen javon williams, thorpe, gilligan, and philbrick... williams has needs to work on his jumpshot to be a more effective player, but his speed and quickness at this level give him an incredible advantage, that will eventually catch up to him. Thorpe was probably the most well rounded player gets a lot of blocks for his size, is a good passer, decent shooter, and finishes well, gilligan needs to work on his passing and outside shooting, but pretty much dominates against anyone his size or smaller in the post and draws a lot of fouls, too bad he misses a lot of freethrows... and I have no idea why philbrick is even listed in the top 5 he plays in a low division and cant even win there... as for beaulieu and muccioli i havent seen them play, maybe there good... but for all the gilligan haters above, he is a good player that deserves to be ranked in the top five and could easily replace philbrick in the ranks that are mentioned on the homepage...

  • At 10:12 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I agree Gilligan is better than Philbrick but I do not agree that Gilligan is one of the top 5 in the state.... Philbrick should not be even considered in the top ten....Secondly, these kids are measured in one or two games - if you always have the ball and don't pass than you are going to be a the high scorer....

  • At 11:33 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

    I agree with 8:51 - who should 4 - 10 be on this list?

  • At 12:26 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

    It should go

    thorpe
    williams
    gilligan
    lacount
    descerae

then maybe muccioli or b.laine other then that i cant think of anyone thats good.

Exactly. I think the skipper, Mary Anne, Ginger and Mr. Howell should get much more credit than Gilligan.

  • At 4:43 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Dear "missing like 6 players against Hanover"

The mentality of excuses is why Souhegan has fallen off the map.

You got beat, give Hanover credit, they weren't one of the worst teams you played

Good luck next year blaming the refs, coaches, milford people etc. when you guys underachieve.

  • At 4:44 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

    Oh yeah,
Lebanon's JV team beat Hanover twice by 20 each time

  • At 4:50 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

You know 4:43, your right. Souhegan's jv team did underachieve. They only had a 17-1 record while winning at an average of 29 points. beating any other jv teams that had any success in class I. Hanover was not a better team than souhegan. Souhegan beat themselves that game.

  • At 4:51 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

yeah i remember souhegan had a big 6'4 kid that had a nice outside touch.

  • At 6:12 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

    Wow,

    someone has struck a nerve

No one said the JV team underachieved, just that you won't do crap on the varsity level because you are a bunch of excuse makers with meddling parents.

Souhegan kids have been instructed not to go on this website. Yeah ok

17-1 jv team will translate to 8-10 in varsity next year (if lucky)

    didn't mean to upset you.

  • At 7:11 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

His name is Mike Heaney hes a really good coach and the JV coach is also really good (Pete Peirce), and if you think that the Amherst and Milford players are looking for excuses walk into the hampshire hills gym in Milford NH and you will always see a bunch of players in there working on their games...talking trash about them on a blog is only going to motivate them to work harder.

  • At 3:36 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

What talking trash about them - they are always talking about how great they are......

4:18pm I agree. Some really good kids don't play AAU or attend the Addidas Camp. That is why ranking these kids is too difficult. The ranking is based only on a small viewpoint or a few games. Though I have seen both Gilligan & Mitchell play and thought Mitchell played better. Bottom line - none of these kids are going anywhere. Does anyone know how many scholarships in NH are given out to basketball players?? Much more given out for baseball and football....
